Brijuni

The most valuable and beautiful part of Istria is its only national park Brijuni - a real gem.

The archipelago is located on the southwestern coast, in front of the historic coastal town of Pula and was declared a national park in 1983.

The group of islands consists of two larger islands, Veli and Mali Brijuni and 12 other islands. The Brijuni Islands are known for the strong structure of the archipelago and the well-preserved mediterranean vegetation.

The archipelago is also characterized by a valuable cultural heritage from Roman and Byzantine times. Brijuni is a popular tourist destination because of its extraordinary beauty.
